About Us
Located in West Michigan. I have been in the e-commerce world for the past 18 years. Following the SEO trends just become par for the course. You have a product to sell, you must keep up your website in the search engines. And, this was what I did.
I have sold on my own websites. I have done affiliate websites, drop shipping websites and many of the large online marketplaces over the years. This gives me extensive knowledge of what has worked for conversions and what wasn’t a great idea. Trial and error of my own sites help build knowledge for customer’s sites.
For 10 years of this, I was also involved with local sites as well. I learned rather quicky that local websites are far easier to rank and maintain than these large e-commerce sites.
I would analyze local sites and tweak it to have a better flow and ranking on the Search Engines. And, eventually, branching out into other local businesses as well. With each business model, there are certain problems that are presented, such as location, level of client, and action desired by the client. I take all of this into account when looking at the current situation and desired results.
The end desired result sometimes drives what would need to be done first. Building up a site’s Optimization can be done in small steps with big impacts. Looking at what the site is currently doing and where one would want the site to be is important. Yes, page 1 of Google, but for what terms, locations, etc.
New Website Builds?
This is not to say that a newly built site is doomed. Not at all, if you know how to grow it properly and with the right intentions. New sites are just that. They are new and need a little more time to get noticed and ranked. Along with some extra things set up, most likely, like citations, map citations for Google map rankings, and social media accounts. All of this leads the website into the rankings.
New websites are popping up all the time. And, with a little tweaking, these sites can be ranked fairly quickly. Once the Search Engines know they are there, the is a great need to make sure there are some key factors happening. Social Media blasts, signals, and such are certainly important. These small buzzes created tell Google that you are here and ready.
History of SEO and My Experience:
In the early 2000’s it was super easy to build and rank a site. Anything I built would be found in the search engines. These were the glory days of “If you build they will come.” But that was short-lived.
Before SEO or Search Engine Optimization, there were other terms for it, like Ranking in Search Engines and search Engine Submission. The Directories were a huge factor, and there wasn’t a Google gasp. There were all types of search engines and all types of ways to rank.
Today, we are looking to rank mostly in Google. Until Google, it was mostly on page optimization, getting in directories, and making sure all your Metadata markup was correct.
Now, it’s based more on 3 factors. On the page, is the simplest for anyone to do but takes the most time and skills. The off-page, backlinks, directories, citations, and such which can be costly to obtain and traffic. Sure, there are a few other things thrown in there, but most fall into one of these 2.
